AEW releases Sadie Gibbs and Bea Priestley

On Thursday, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer confirmed that AEW recently released Bea Priestley and Sadie Gibbs.

This news comes as surprise because Bea Priestley was a highly-touted signing for AEW last year following her run with STARDOM. “The Top Gaijin” made her debut at Fight for Fallen 2019 in a tag match with Shoko Nakajima, Riho, and Britt Baker.

The match infamously kicked off a feud between Baker and Priestley, which culminated at Full Gear 2019. Recently, the former World of Stardom Champion seemed poised to challenge for the AEW women’s title before COVID-19 hit.

It’s unclear why AEW and Bea Priestley parted way. The company also released Sadie Gibbs, a hot up-and-coming British independent wrestler.

AEW aired a vignette to introduce Gibbs during Double or Nothing 2019 and she officially debuted in the Women’s Casino Battle Royale at All Out. Unfortunately, she only competed in three matches for the company. Her last appearance was on the Oct. 30, 2019 episode of AEW Dark.

“The Amazing Grace” confirmed she was no longer with the company yesterday on her Twitter account.
