Knockouts Tag Team Titles to return at “Hard To Kill”

Tonight, during their pay-per-view event “Bound For Glory”, Impact Wrestling announced the Knockouts Tag Team Championships will return in 2021 during their January event, “Hard To Kill”.

The Knockouts Championships were deactivated in 2013, after being vacated for over a year. The last to hold the titles were Eric Young and ODB, winning them from Gail Kim and Madison Rayne in March 2012. They held the titles for over 400 days before they were finally vacated by Knockouts Division Executive Brooke Hogan due to Young being a male talent.

Talent that could already form tag teams include Havok and Nevaeh, as well as Kiera Hogan and Tasha Steelz.

The announcement was made immediately following the Impact Knockouts Championship match, where Su Yung made a surprise appearance, in place of a missing Kylie Rae. Yung, who transformed back to The Undead Bride after acting as “Susie” for a period of time, answered the defending champ Deonna Purrazzo’s open challenge, issued after Rae failed to show up to the match.

Yung defeated Purrazzo after a hard-fought 15-minute match, becoming the new Impact Knockouts Champion. No information was given on why Rae was absent.
