Thunder Rosa and Jazz to open dojo for women wrestlers

Tonight, during Mission Pro Wrestling’s pay-per-view event Out of Hell, Thunder Rosa announced she would be opening up a dojo for women wrestlers.

The school, which they’ve named The Dogg Pound Dojo, is predicted to open in Texas in December, and will be available for women who want to train in wrestling. It was also announced that Jazz will be a trainer for the school.

Mission Pro Wrestling recently transitioned to an all women’s promotion, where women run the entire show: from wrestling, creative, reffing, announcing, and crew work. The promotion is ran by Thunder Rosa and her husband Brian Cervantes.

Rosa recently dropped the NWA title to AEW signee and former PC trainer Serena Deeb in late October, starting rumors that Rosa would soon be picked up by AEW or WWE. Rosa denied the rumors in recent interviews, and it appears that the opening of the dojo solidifies her denial.

Jazz announced her retirement from the ring in an interview with Chris Van Vliet, ending a career spanning 22 years, chalked full of experience from dozens of promotions like WWE, EVE, AEW, NWA and WSU. The legend is a solid get for Rosa, and the move to trainer is a no-brainer.

More information will be shared regarding The Dogg Pound Dojo, as it’s announced.

  1. Many years ago I had the privilege of working with Jazz and Rodney Mack in Chicago and I have been watching Rosa from her debut on Lucha Underground. These are two of the most talented and experienced women in the industry. Anyone given the honor of training in this dojo had better understand the high honor they have been given and treat it as such.
