Today, WWE NXT announced via Twitter that they had signed three female wrestlers from the independent scene.
Lacey Ryan, Priscilla Kelly, and Elyana Black were announced as their new female signees, with their new wrestling names as Zoey Stark, Gigi Dolin, and Cora Jade, respectively.
Despite the pandemic, Ryan had a breakout year. 2020 was also her busiest year yet, wrestling in 21 matches for eight promotions, including Mission Pro Wrestling, Impact Wrestling, and SHIMMER. Her last match on the independent scene was against La Rosa Negra at Mission Pro Run It Back, where Ryan dropped the MPW Championship.
Kelly is the most recognized of the three, and the woman with the most wrestling experience. With nearly six years under her belt, Kelly has wrestled in nearly 200 matches for promotions like AEW, Beyond Wrestling, SHIMMER, RiSE, Shine, Pro Wrestling EVE, and MLW. Kelly appeared as herself for WWE in 2018 for the WWE Mae Young Classic Tournament, losing to Deonna Purrazzo in the first round.
It could also be said that Black had an incredible 2020 on the independent circuit, wrestling over 30 matches for 19 promotions; promotions like AEW, GCW, Zelo Pro, Black Label Pro, SHIMMER, and Warrior Wrestling. Black was last seen in an 8-way match at GCW 56 Nights, earlier this month.
Though there’s no word on how soon we’ll get to see the three women in the WWE NXT ring, NXT’s tweet used the hashtag “DustyClassic”, so we’re staying hopeful it’s sooner than expected.
Bell To Belles congratulates all three women on their new positions, and know they’ll add even more talent to an already stacked women’s roster.
