In honor of Women’s History Month, WWE created the series WWE 50 Greatest Women Superstars—listing the 50 most influential and strongest female competitors of WWE’s modern era.

Airing on Peacock in the U.S. and the WWE Network internationally, the series started Monday with numbers 50 through 36, continuing until Friday, where they’ll finish by releasing the top 5.

WWE correspondent Sarah Schreiber hosts the countdown, highlighting each superstar’s legacy and achievements that stands as the basis for their ranking.

According to WWE, in order to qualify for the list, Superstars must belong to the “Modern Era”, which is recognized from 1993 until present day. Rankings are based on “in-ring accomplishments, championship victories, and creating legendary moments.”

WWE states that throughout the series, they will highlight “unforgettable Superstars from pre-1993”, also highlighting women who “primarily made their mark outside of the ring.”

Between the Monday and Tuesday airings, WWE has released numbers 21 through 50 of the ranking. Between the Wednesday and Thursday airings, WWE has released numbers 6 through 20. Listed below is who made the ranking at those spots.

23. Paige
24. Sable
25. Molly Holly
26. Victoria
27. Alexa Bliss
28. Mickie James
29. Beth Phoenix
30. Bayley
31. Ronda Rousey
32. Lita

More so than the rankings for numbers 21 through 50, the newest rankings have faced serious criticism (again) for being seemingly skewed to kayfabe, favor, and push, rather than influence, measurable success, and objective standards.

For the part of the top 20 that has been released, so far, the rankings of Alexa Bliss and Ronda Rousey seem particularly high to some fans, especially when considering Rousey’s spot. Rousey has wrestled within WWE for only a year, competing in only 70 matches, holding the RAW Women’s Championship title for 231 days. In Rousey’s case, it’s clear they are heavily considering “legendary moments” when tallying up criteria.

Fans argue Natalya and Beth Phoenix are ranked too low in their comparative spots. Natalya has wrestled 1,357 matches in what is close to 15 years within WWE. Phoenix is a powerhouse, which was not a brand of wrestler typically seen in the Divas division during the time she was most successful. Both women have arguably earned higher spots in the list.

Also interesting to note, continuing on from the stat given in the article covering 21 through 50, there are now 20 women on the list who are active members of the current WWE roster; 33.3% (1/3) of the current women’s roster is listed on the ranking, so far. This also means that 40% of the ranking so far is current roster members.

Speculation on who will round out the remaining top 5 mostly include Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, Asuka, Trish Stratus, and Chyna.

WWE will release the top 5 of the WWE 50 Greatest Women Superstars tomorrow, Friday, Mar. 26.
