During Night 1 of WrestleMania, Bianca Belair pinned Sasha Banks to become the new SmackDown Women’s Champion.
In the match that lasted just over 17 minutes, Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks both showed their strengths and frustrations, and laid everything on the line while becoming the first two black women to main event a WrestleMania.
During the 2021 Royal Rumble, Belair won the women’s Royal Rumble match to earn herself a women’s world championship match of her choosing.
For the next following weeks, Belair prolonged her choice, and although Banks would compliment Belair, Banks stated Belair would never be the bEST. On the Feb. 26 episode of SmackDown, Belair declared she would go after the SmackDown Women’s Championship.
WrestleMania Night 2 starts Sunday night at 8pm EST on Peacock in the U.S. and on the WWE Network internationally.
