Taya Valkyrie signs with All Elite Wrestling

Taya Valkyrie is the newest addition to the AEW women’s division.

During tonight’s “AEW Dynamite”, live from Winnipeg, Canadian native Taya Valkyrie arrived to the ring to confront Jade Cargill after she issued an open challenge for her TBS Championship. Shortly after, it was announced Valkyrie is the newest member of the AEW women’s division.

Cargill originally faced Canadian indie legend Nicole Matthews, but won in quick fashion, making her record still undefeated at 54-0.

On March 10, PWInsider reported that Valkyrie had finished her time with IMPACT Wrestling after their Las Vegas tapings. Valkyrie worked as a free agent with IMPACT during her second run with the promotion, leaving her open to new deals after finishing her IMPACT commitments. It was rumored that she was heading to AEW.

Valkyrie is a women’s wrestling veteran with 12 years of experience, competing for NWA, MLW, AAA, and a short run at NXT. As of tonight’s “Dynamite” episode, Valkyrie holds the MLW Women’s World Featherweight Championship, AAA Reina de Reinas Championship, and the Impact Knockouts Tag Team Championship, which of course by now has changed hands.
