This week will bring more mainstream attention to professional wrestling than the industry has seen in over a decade. That’s partly because of the debut of AEW Dynamite. All Elite Wrestling’s weekly series has changed the conversation for better or worse, but have The Elite given fans enough to look forward to?
Overall, the new company has done a great job of presenting a product that is new and different in the space of four pay-per-view events. However, there are still many questions surrounding AEW’s women’s division.
There’s still plenty of work to be done in that department to create the vibrant and inclusive division Brandi Rhodes promised back in January. That’s not to say there aren’t some bright spots. It’s clear there are plans in place but it’s fair to criticize what we’ve seen so far.
If you’re saying to yourself, we haven’t seen enough to form an opinion, that’s part of the problem. The company has given us a broad idea of what’s to come but the women’s division hasn’t quite delivered yet.
