Yesterday, All Elite Wrestling (AEW) confirmed Bea Priestley and Dr. Britt Baker would compete in some capacity at Fight for the Fallen. Today, they officially announced they will take part in a tag team match featuring Riho and Shoko Nakajima on The Pre-Show: The Buy-In.
Britt Baker will team up Riho to face Bea Priestley and Nakajima, who are both making their AEW debut. Priestley’s first match has been highly anticipated, even though she is still a relatively new face for mainstream wrestling fans in the US.
Matching her and Nakajima up against two established opponents, who are both undefeated so far, will add some intrigue to the bout. It certainly makes it more difficult to predict who will come out on top in the end.
Shoko Nakajima is mostly known for her time with Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling (TJP), where she is the Princess of Princess Champion. The 27-year-old Japanese wrestler has also worked with DDT and CHIKARA. Over the last five years, she has also notably teamed up with another Joshi wrestler who has worked with AEW, Yuka Sakazaki.
Sakazaki and Riho don’t seem to be on the same page after the end of their match at Fyter Fest. It will be interesting to see if that tension plays into this tag match or if we will see Yuka and Shoko team up for AEW in the future.
All in all, it will be fun to see how all these women’s styles mesh together in the ring tomorrow.
Fight for the Fallen will stream live this Saturday, July 13 at Daily’s Place Amphitheater in Jacksonville, Florida at 8:30 pm EST. The Pre-Show: The Buy-In starts at 7:30 pm EST. Both will be available for free on B/R Live.
