AEW Heels follows up on promise of building a community for women

Tonight, AEW Heels hosted their second party via Zoom—a “Special Heels Session” filled with important discussion, advice on coping, and bonding between the women of wrestling.

AEW Heels, a new community for women who love wrestling, hosted the Zoom party this evening at 8 p.m. EST, and treated fans to a Q&A with Nyla Rose, a presentation from AEW CLO Megha Parekh on how to best cope with stress and crises, and a make-up tutorial with Stella Kae, one of AEW’s Head Make-up Artists.

The session also featured a sweepstakes, where fans who attended the party could purchase raffle tickets towards winning the specialty vest Brandi Rhodes sported on a recent episode of AEW Dynamite. Proceeds from the raffle go to the George Floyd Memorial Fund and The Trevor Project.

Former AEW Women’s Champion Nyla Rose sat down for a Q&A, answering questions from fans at the party. Nyla answered questions on favorite video games, her inspirations and dream manager, her go-to skin regimen, and her challenges as a transgender wrestler.

Nyla was asked how fans can best support transgender wrestlers.

“We’re out there to wrestle, we’re out there to entertain. Let’s put that out there on the forefront.”

“We just want to go out there and wrestle, and do it to the best of our ability,” Nyla added, also asking fans to see them as athletes, and treat them like everyone else.

The greatest challenge Rose has overcome?

“Honestly, that internal struggle of realizing my inner self…”.

Rose detailed her path, stating she had to question everything she liked or wanted in life. Finally realizing that she had to do it for herself, and throw caution to the wind.

Fans were also treated to a make-up tutorial from Stella Kae—specifically how to do the coveted Hikaru Shida eye. Fans were encouraged to follow along, and posted pictures on social media of their progress.

After the tutorial, fans were treated to a spoiler from this Sunday’s episode of Shot of Brandi. We’re not allowed to tell the secret, but, we heard Brandi had too much fun.

There’s no announcement for the next AEW Heels Session, and to editorialize, it adds to the appeal. AEW Heels continues to foster the feeling of a spontaneous ladies’ night out, but between women who have struggled to find a place of their own in wrestling.

The mission of AEW Heels to support women in wrestling is not only empowering and encouraging, it’s refreshing to see a large wrestling promotion bank on providing a place where female fans can let their hair down, dance to some tunes, and share some stories.

Bell To Belles will continue to attend AEW Heels Sessions, as they happen. Continue to check back for updates.

Thanks for the write-up. I need to get my wife into wrestling so at least someone in this house can attend these events. 😀
