In a surprise revelation, Asuka won the Triple Brand Battle Royal to earn a second title match at WWE SummerSlam.

Last week, Stephanie McMahon announced that there would be a Triple Brand Battle Royal to determine Bayley’s opponent for “The Biggest Party of the Summer.” On Friday, women from SmackDown, RAW, and NXT competed for their chance to challenge the “Role Model.”

Naomi, Shayna Baszler, Bianca Belair, Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan, Tegan Nox, Shotzi Blackheart, Lacey Evans, Dana Brooke, Nikki Cross, Peyton Royce, and Billie Kay all participated with hopes to earn a spot on the SummerSlam card.

“The Empress of Tomorrow” ultimately outlasted the rest of the fields and eliminated Baszler to win another title shot. Asuka also defeated Bayley on Monday to earn a rematch against Sasha Banks for the WWE Raw Women’s Championship.

So, Asuka will get the chance exact revenge on the duo who cost her her title and injured Kairi Sane. Moreover, she will have an opportunity to become a double champion.

WWE SummerSlam will take place on Sunday, Aug. 23. The event will stream live on the WWE Network.
