During tonight’s Raw, former IIconics members Billie Kay and Peyton Royce debuted in singles competition for the main roster, competing against each other in a match that lasted only a few minutes. Peyton Royce won the match.
On last week’s Raw, The IIconics were forced to break-up, after they suffered a loss to Ruby Riott and Liv Morgan. The stipulation of the match called for the disbanding of the losing team.
Kay and Royce both debuted for WWE on the April 23, 2015 episode of NXT. Kay, then known as Jessie McKay, was defeated in a dark match by Bayley. Royce, then known as Cassidy, was defeated by Sasha Banks.
The two officially formed and debuted the IIconics on the April 24, 2018 episode of SmackDown, three years after debuting for the company. The duo defeated Asuka and Becky Lynch in their main roster debut match. Kay and Royce competed in 106 matches as the IIconics, competing with each other as a tag team for a total of 178 matches.
There’s no telling where their careers are headed, now that they are disbanded, but the fan-favorite team will be desperately missed, especially in a division that’s seriously missing experienced tag teams.
