In the main event of this week’s episode of SmackDown, Carmella defeated two former champions become the Bayley’s next challenger.
Naomi made her return to SmackDown last week to confront Bayley and remind her that she hasn’t beat her yet. After her performance in the women’s Royal Rumble, she had the most momentum.
Tonight, She competed with Carmella, Alexa Bliss, and Dana Brooke in a fatal four-way match to determine the number one contender for the SmackDown Women’s Championship.
Naomi quickly took control and delivered a beautiful corkscrew to take out the other three women. Then, she got into a brawl outside of the ring with Bayley, who took her out of the fray briefly.
Brooke had an impressive showing but it wasn’t enough to put Bliss away. With that said, Naomi was without a doubt the star of this match. She got the most offensive in throughout.
Not to be upstaged, Bliss went for the Twisted Bliss but Naomi got her knees and nailed her with the Rear View. Before she could go for the pin, “The Princess of Staten Island” blindsided her with two Superkicks to win the match.
Afterward, Bayley immediately ambushed her to restart the feud that was hinted a few months ago. Nevertheless, Carmella is the new number one contender for the SmackDown Women’s Championship.
