UK women’s wrestling favorite Jamie Hayter has returned to AEW and is officially All Elite.
Tonight, during the debut episode of AEW Rampage, AEW Women’s World Champion Britt Baker defended her title against Red Velvet in the main event. After the bell rang, chaos ensued: Baker continued the beating on Velvet, Kris Statlander came to Velvet’s rescue, and a mystery woman dressed in all black came to the aid of Baker.
The mystery woman removed her ball cap, and it was revealed that Hayter had made her AEW return, appearing to be the “back-up” that Baker stated she needed desperately within the women’s division.
Immediately after the match, AEW announced via Twitter that Jamie Hayter was “All Elite”, signifying Hayter had signed with the company.
Bell To Belles learned earlier this year that Hayter had a contract with AEW already in place, but had not been officially announced as part of the roster. Sources said at the time that AEW likely keeps particular signing announcements in their pocket for when the announcement best fits an upcoming push.
Hayter last wrestled for AEW in November 2019, where she teamed with Emi Sakura to defeat Riho and Shanna on an episode of AEW Dynamite. COVID placed restrictions on international travel a few short months later, removing talent like Hayter and Sakura from shows on US soil. It should be noted Sakura is also on her way back to AEW.
Next week’s AEW Rampage, titled “The First Dance”, takes place in Chicago at the United Center. Bell To Belles will be there live to report the action as it happens.
