Kairi Sane could be finishing up her career as a wrestler and it appears that she plans to do so back in her home country, Japan.
According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, Kairi Sane will return to Japan to be with her husband. This has reportedly been in the works for a while and the company has known about it since at least May.
This seems to corroborate a report from Fightful Select that described Sane’s status with the company as “pretty complicated,” but Sane would move back to Japan and act as an ambassador.
“The Pirate Princess” hasn’t been on television since the sustained a deep cut on her head during a match with Nia Jax on the June 1 episode of Raw. Incidentally, she is cleared to return and take part in the tapings for Raw this weekend.
Apparently, WWE planned a career-ending injury angle for Sane ahead of SummerSlam. They seemingly scrapped the storyline after the match with Jax went awry.
Meltzer also noted that Kairi plans to wrestle for one more year in Japan once her contract with WWE expires. As of now, her contract has lapsed but she’s still expected to take part in the upcoming tapings.

Interesting stuff
Selfishly, as a fan, I’d love to see her sign with AEW but I’m happy for any wrestler who can afford to do what they want.
