Pro wrestling legend Lisa Marie Varon wrestled her final match this past weekend against Melina Perez in the main event for Masters of The Ring Entertainment. Varon defeated Melina and has retired as the inaugural MORE Wrestling Women’s Heavyweight Champion.
She posted to Twitter after the event to announce it was indeed her final match.
“As @therealkurtangle said, “Oh It’s True. It’s damn True” Thank you @mastersofringentertainment for main eventing my final match this past Saturday. It’s such an honor leaving the ring as the Women’s Masters of the Ring Entertainment Champion. Thank you @realmelina , @theterrirunnels and @trishstratuscom for sharing this moment with me. Don’t be sad for me… be happy for me. I had an awesome 20 year run. I love you all so very much. I’m appreciative of your support and loyalty.”
Varon, who is more commonly known for her time in WWE as Victoria and Tara in TNA, announced earlier this year that she was wrapping up her time as an in-ring competitor. She spent the year making her rounds along the independent circuit wrestling the likes of Melina, ODB, Jordynne Grace and Madison Rayne to name a few.
During her tenure at WWE she was a two-time Women’s Champion, and she was a five-time Knockouts Champion while at TNA. Varon ends a 20-year areer and has etched her name in the history books as one of the best female in-ring performers in the industry.
