Lita, Christy Hemme, and Gail Kim are co-producing a landmark women’s wrestling series called KAYfABE.
On Friday, Lita, Christy Hemme, and Gail Kim shared black and white teasers. Later, they all promoted a new Twitter account for “This IS KAYfABE.”
This morning, the countdown started for the reveal of their new project, a professional wrestling series about women made by women. Lita, Hemme, and Kim will all be producers.
When the countdown was up, the trio launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund the pilot episode. KAYfABE will be based on real stories with but there will also be in-ring action. They shared a brief teaser trailer on the page for the campaign.
After the announcement, all three women did a Livestream with the series’ Creative Content Direction, DS Shin of Ring The Belle.
This potential series is the first of its kind as a story about women told by women. Pro wrestling is in dire need of new perspectives. So, it will be refreshing to see what issues and stories they will tackle through the show.
