Melina is set to make her return to WWE for the Raw Reunion this Monday. This will be her first appearance with the company since August of 2011.
Melina’s contributions to women’s wrestling during her tenure with WWE have often gone unacknowledged in the eight years since she was released. The five-time women’s champion was a fixture in the division from 2006 to 2011. Since then, she has been making sporadic appearances on the indie scene.
It’s good to see the company is finally welcoming her back and giving her some much-deserved recognition. She will appear along with a who’s who list of former champions and legends including Alundra Blayze, Kelly Kelly, Eve Torres, Lilian Garcia, and Candice Michelle.
The Raw Reunion special is a celebratory event that will bring together WWE superstars from the past. It’s unclear if this is a one-off appearance, or if this will lead to an announcement of some kind.
Notably, the last time most of these women were seen was at WWE Evolution, which was announced around this time last year on Raw. Also, there’s still an unnamed pay-per-view event slated for October. Could this mean the follow up to their first all-women’s pay-per-view is possible after all?
For now, we’ll just have to wait and see. What do you think? Are you excited for Melina’s return and could this lead to more appearance?
