Rachael Ellering to make AEW debut on Dark

Former NXT signee, Rachael Ellering, will make her AEW debut next week in a match against Penelope Ford.

Friday, AEW announced the Rachael Ellering vs. Penelope Ford along with a host of other matches scheduled for next week’s episode of Dark via Twitter.

Ellering is a second-generation wrestler and the daughter of WWE Hall of Famer, Paul Ellering. She began appearing on NXT under her real name, Rachel Evers, in 2017.

“The Queen of Strong Smile” competed in the Mae Young Classic in 2017 and 2018 before signing with WWE in the following year. Back in May, Ellering revealed that she’s a free agent again when she posted a video on her Twitter account to promote herself.

Ellering has been working to return from a knee injury since last summer. Unfortunately, she hasn’t been able to make a return to the indie scene where she made a name for herself due to restrictions caused by COVID-19.

Hopefully, this means we will see more of Rachael Ellering on AEW programming. Their depleted women’s division could definitely use some new faces.
