Results from RISE “Pride and Joy”

Pride month has concluded and cities across the country celebrated throughout the month of June. Chicago celebrated this past weekend and RISE took advantage by having their event “Pride and Joy” run at the same time as Chi-Town’s Pride Parade.

The independent promotion also donated proceeds from the sale of their t-shirts and a portion of the live stream proceeds to the Center on Halsted. This community center located in Chicago is dedicating to securing the health and well-being of the LGBTQ people in the city.

The event took place at Logan Square Auditorium and featured some of the top talent in the independent scene. All Elite Wrestling’s Sonny Kiss and Nyla Rose even made an appearance at the event. Here are the results from the June 30 event.

Cassandro El Exotico defeated Mercedes Martinez

After the final match of the night, Mercedes Martinez grabbed the mic and gave a very passionate speech to those in attendance. She thanked them for coming to this important event to support RISE and support the diversity in wrestling.

RISE has always had the mantra “Developing Tomorrow’s Women Athletes but she said this now has changed. The company will be focused in “Developing Tomorrow’s Wrestling Attraction”, all genders and sexual orientations will be showcased at RISE not just women’s wrestling.
