Rhea Ripley vs. Asuka announced for WrestleMania 37

During tonight’s episode of RAW, WWE officially announced Rhea Ripley would face Asuka for the WWE Raw Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 37.

Asuka faced Peyton Royce during tonight’s RAW; a match booked after Royce delivered an emotional plea on RAW Talk, expressing her frustrations at her lack of opportunities within the company.

Following Asuka’s win, and weeks of vignettes teasing Ripley’s appearance, Ripley officially arrived to RAW and immediately made clear her intentions. The Nightmare poked fun at Asuka’s tooth loss, and mentioned Charlotte Flair’s COVID-instigated absence, before challenging The Empress of Tomorrow to a WrestleMania title match.

Asuka told Ripley she wasn’t ready, but accepted the challenge, anyways.

Asuka will defend the WWE Raw Women’s Championship against Rhea Ripley on one night of WrestleMania, happening over two nights, on Saturday, April 10 and Sunday, April 11. WrestleMania will stream live at 8 ET/5 PT exclusively on Peacock in the U.S. and on WWE Network everywhere else.
