Rhia O’Reilly retains EVE Championship at Wrestling Queendom 3

At Wrestling Queendom 3, Rhia O’Reilly successfully defended the EVE Championship against Laura Di Matteo with a little help.

Rhia O’Reilly infamously turned heel at Wrestle Queendom 2. Since she has joined forces with Nightshade and Livii Grace. The trio uses their numbers to dominate her opponents.

Her rivalry with Laura Di Matteo goes back to the 2019 SHE-1 Series, where O’Reilly cost her a shot at the finals. Di Matteo returned the favor later when she took the EVE Champion out before her triple threat match with Millie McKenzie and Mercedes Martinez.

Earlier today, EVE discovered O’ Reilly attacked Heidi Katrina, leaving Di Matteo on her own. This paid off as O’Reilly, Grace, and Nightshade beat down Laura before the bell.

However, Di Matteo eventually fought back, taking down the “The Fighting Irish’s” stablemates one by one. The two continued to fight outside the ring until O’Reilly hit Laura with a vicious curb stomp on the stage.

Then, she dragged her into the ring to finally start the match and go for a pin attempt. Somehow, Di Matteo managed to kick out and immediately take the fight to the champion.

Eventually, the challenger cinched in an Octopus Stretch but Grace and Nightshade distracted the referee. While everyone’s backs were turned, a masked woman laid Di Matteo out with a dropkick.

This set O’Reilly up to hit her with the Rhiadjustment for a near fall. She quickly hit her with another to retain the title. As she and her stablemates celebrated in the ring, the hooded woman returned.

Then, she lifted her hood to reveal herself as Skye Smitson to a chorus of boos.

There is some speculation that Laura Di Matteo may have sustained an injury during the match. Nevertheless, Rhia O’Reilly is still the EVE Champion.
