Riho will return to Gatoh Move Pro for ChocoPro Vol. 29

Former AEW Women’s World Champion, Riho will return to Gatoh Move Pro Wrestling for the first time in a year this Sunday for ChocoPro Vol. 29.

This will be Riho’s first appearance with the Tailand-based promotion since last summer when she took on Emi Sakura. Since she has gone on to have success with AEW and STARDOM as the High Speed Champion.

Earlier this year, Riho lost the AEW Women’s World Champion to Nyla Rose on the Feb. 12 episode of Dynamite. She hasn’t been present on AEW programming since March, likely because of travel restrictions caused by COVID-19.

So, this is also the first time Riho has been scheduled to make an appearance in close to three months. Outside of a surprise cameo at a DDT Pro event last week, she hasn’t been seen in a ring since the global pandemic shut many promotions down.

Riho has a long history with Gatoh Move Pro. She spent eight years with the promotion that her mentor, Sakura, started after she left Ice Ribbon in 2012.

As a member of the roster, she was a two-time Asia Dream Tag Team and the Super Asia Champion. The 23-year-old AEW star held the latter for 620 days.

ChocoPro Vol. 29 will stream live on Gatoh Pro’s YouTube channel on Sunday, July 5 at 10 am JST. For American fans, that’s Saturday night at 9 pm EST.
