Ronda Rousey was recently interviewed by People magazine, where she spoke about her future with WWE. The former MMA star revealed she’s in “no rush” to return.
It has been eight months since Rousey, Becky Lynch and Charlotte headlined WrestleMania. The trio etched their names in history in what will remain one of the most talked-about matches in WWE history.
The former RAW Women’s Champion hasn’t appeared in the ring since. Rousey was spoken freely about her plans to leave after WrestleMania. She wanted to spend time exclusively with her husband, Travis Brown, and her two stepsons. The couple also hopes to add to their family
While many think the women’s division took a huge hit once Rousey let, she is not looking to return anytime soon.
“The girls are doing amazing right now,” she said. “I really don’t think that I’m that necessary in what’s going on. I think they’re crushing it and I really did want to bring a spotlight to what they’re doing and let them stand in it.”
“And I think it’s kind of better, they’re better off with me taking a step away right now, and kind of finding their stride without me.”
When Rousey does make her eventually return, she plans to find an effective way to split her time between work and home.
“Right now, I think my family needs my undivided attention. I’m happy to give them that. But I’m trying to figure out a way or a system or somehow that I could give both my family and WWE the best of me and not be half ass in both.”
