Sonya Deville is arguably one of the biggest rising stars on WWE programming. Deville signed with the company almost five years ago after she competed on season six of Tough Enough.
The first openly gay superstar in WWE history has been honing her craft in the squared circle and she has finally found her place on the roster. She recently spoke to Newsweek and spoke about the confidence she has finally found on the WWE roster.
“I feel like I’m finally coming into my own and finally getting to say what I want to say and feel what I want to feel and do what I want to do. Everything is on Sonya’s terms now and I’m just loving having all that control and power.”
To make it in what can be a difficult company to work for, the men and women need to have patience, drive, and to be in the right place at the right time.
“I’m a very motivated, dedicated person and I’m a very patient person. I’ve been thinking about this for five years, so four weeks out of the game is nothing. If anything, it gives me time to calculate and motivate, regroup and figure out what my next move is. I always have a plan and I’m very disciplined, so I don’t think [my time away is] an issue.”
Deville is in the middle of a feud with her former Fire & Desire counterpart, Mandy Rose. This highly-anticipated feud has everything needed to make for entertaining television.
In the eyes of her fans, the former MMA fighter has just begun to show the crowd and company what she is capable of. Sonya Deville is one to watch out for as a future champion in the coming years.
