STARDOM cancels upcoming events due to Coronavirus

As the Coronavirus outbreak continues to spread, STARDOM canceled several shows in the coming weeks as a precaution.

Earlier today, the Joshi promotion announced that the following dates are canceled: Mayu Iwatani’s Birthday Fan Event of February 19, February 20, Osaka on February 22, Nagoya on February 23, Shinkiba on February 29 and the Osaka day and night shows on March 14.

STARDOM went on to apologize for any inconvenience and ensure that refunds will be available.

The press conference on Feb. 20 and the show at Korakuen Hall on Mar. 8 will take place as planned in an “empty arena.” In addition, the March 8 show will be available on STARDOM’s YouTube channel.

So far, New Japan hasn’t canceled any of their upcoming shows. However, they did issue a notice with some safety precautions. They also announced that all meet and greets/autograph signings are canceled until further notice.

To date, there have been 73,325 confirmed cases of the Coronavirus around the world, with 606 in Japan and one death. According to CNN, the total death toll has reached 1,873 worldwide.
