Teal Piper signs with WOW – Women of Wrestling

Today, Jeanie Buss announced that “Rowdy” Roddy Piper’s daughter, Teal Piper, signed with WOW – Women of Wrestling.

This is coming off the news that the second-generation wrestler will participate in AEW’s women’s Casino Battle Royal at All Out in two weeks. According to TMZ, Piper revealed she only signed on for one-time appearance, as of now.

In the meantime, she has been working with head trainer, Selina Majors, at the WOW training center in Long Beach to appear in season two this fall. Piper will debut with the all-female wrestling promotion at its live events on Sept. 18 and 19 at the Belasco Theater in Los Angeles, CA.

On following in her father’s footsteps, Piper said, “Wrestling has always been a part of me, and while no one can ever replace my dad, I hope to make sure no one ever forgets him.”

Owner, Jeanie Buss, went on to express pride in the new acquisition and her foray into professional wrestling in the official press release.

WOW is proud to welcome Teal on board as the newest member of the family of Superheroes,” Buss said. “Her father, Roddy, left an incredible mark not only on wrestling but on countless fans across the world. His spirit is alive and well within her, and the drive she has shown during her training sessions has been truly incredible to watch. WOW is honored to join Teal on her journey as she pays to tribute to Roddy’s legacy while blazing a new trail that is entirely her own.”

It certainly seems like Teal Piper is taking her first attempt at wrestling seriously. Signing with a promotion with a storied history like WOW is a big step in her career.

WOW – Women of Wrestling will return for its second season on Saturday, Sept. 7 at 8 pm EST on AXS TV.
