Trish Stratus will be a special guest on SmackDown next week

SmackDown will welcome a legend next week. Today, WWE announced Trish Stratus will appear on a special edition of “The King’s Court” this Tuesday in Memphis, Tennessee.

This news comes after the report that the Hall of Famer was in talks to return to in-ring action at SummerSlam, which takes place in her hometown—Toronto. This seems to suggest Stratus will indeed appear at “The Biggest Party of the Summer,” and all signs point to a match with Charlotte Flair.

Last week after she lost her match with Ember Moon, Charlotte cut a promo where she expressed outrage that she isn’t on the card for SummerSlam. She went on to claim she is “the woman solely responsible for the Women’s Revolution” and “The Queen of All Eras of Sports Entertainment.”

In the end, Flair said, “I demand to be at SummerSlam and my opponent will be better than Ember Moon. And I’m going to prove why I’m the greatest female superstar of all time.” Trish Stratus could be that opponent, and she may have taken umbrage with what Charlotte said as well.

Stratus hasn’t been in a match since her appearance on the episode of Raw following Evolution on Oct. 29. Trish, Lita, Natalya, Sasha Banks, and Bayley took on the team of Alicia Fox, Mickie James, and The Riott Squad in a 10-woman tag match.
